Al-Basirah Journal is a peer-reviewed academic publication managed by the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya Education Centre. Between 2016 and 2021, the journal was overseen by the Centre for Foundation Studies in Islamic Studies, University of Malaya Nilam Puri. Since 2022, its management has been transferred to the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya Education Centre. The journal publishes scholarly articles in the field of Islamic Studies, encompassing both foundational research and empirical studies. Its primary focus areas include, but are not limited to, Islamic Education, Arabic Language, Shariah, and Usuluddin.

The journal made its debut in 2016 with a single issue in the inaugural volume, followed by two issues in each of the subsequent volumes. It is published biannually, in June and December, serving as a platform for academic contributions from scholars, researchers, and practitioners in these fields. Its mission is to foster scholarly discourse across various branches of Islamic Studies, establishing itself as a prominent reference in both national and international academic circles.

The journal is indexed in MyJurnal, EuroPub, Crossref, and Google Scholar, enhancing its accessibility and visibility to the global academic community.
