The organisation, through its socio-economic activities, offered employment opportunities to many Egyptians-Muslims and non-Muslims. There are many Muslim organisations in Nigeria with abundant human and material resources but quite number of the members of those viable Muslim organisations are without job. Going by the great impact of the economic activities of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, there are lessons to be learnt by Nigerian Muslim organisations. Adopting historical and contextual analytical research method, the findings of the study reveal that the Muslim Brotherhood of Egypt established various educational and health institutions as well as several businesses including companies and factories to create job opportunities for the teeming population of Egyptian Muslims in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. The study recommends that through the Islamic economic system of Muḍarabah (co-partnership) and Musharakah (joint/group ownership), Muslim organisations in Nigeria could form alliance by coming together as formidable groups to establish farm settlements, viable companies; world-class educational, financial and health institutions that will provide job opportunities for Nigerian Muslims. By adhering to the Islamic teaching on unity and cooperation, Muslim organisations in Nigeria can pool their resources together to create job opportunities for the Nigerian Muslims in particular and non-Muslim in general.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 ALBASIRAH JOURNAL https://vmis.um.edu.my/index.php/ALBASIRAH/article/view/57191 Kritikan Abu Rayyah Terhadap Kitab Sahih Bukhari yang Terdapat Perawi Ahli Khawarij 2025-06-06T06:15:59+08:00 Nurul Faezah Mohd Fazli a186827@siswa.ukm.edu.my Mohd Farhan Md Ariffin farhan.ariffin@ukm.edu.my Najah Nadiah Amran farhan.ariffin@ukm.edu.my
Abu Rayyah is an Islamic scholar whose ideas have drawn significant attention from ulama muhaddithun due to his criticisms of Prophetic hadiths narrated by Khawarij narrators in Sahih Bukhari, as presented in his book Adwa’ ‘Ala al-Sunnah al-Muhammadiyyah. His views stand in stark contrast to the perspectives of ulama muhaddithun. One example is his criticism of the narrator Imran bin Hittan, a member of the Khawarij, whose inclusion in Sahih Bukhari led Abu Rayyah to question the authenticity of the book. This article focuses on examining Mahmud Abu Rayyah’s criticism of Sahih Bukhari regarding the presence of Khawarij narrators, as found in Adwa’ ‘Ala al-Sunnah al-Muhammadiyyah, and presents refutations of his arguments. This study employs a qualitative method through extensive reading and analysis of primary sources, namely Adwa’ ‘Ala al-Sunnah al-Muhammadiyyah, while additional supporting information was gathered from secondary sources. The findings reveal that Abu Rayyah’s criticism of Khawarij narrators in Sahih Bukhari contradicts the scholarly consensus among ulama hadith. The claim that the presence of a Khawarij narrator weakens Sahih Bukhari is inaccurate, rather, Imran bin Hittan is considered a trustworthy (thiqah) narrator in hadith transmission. In conclusion, this study clarifies that Abu Rayyah’s criticism of Sahih Bukhari based on the inclusion of a Khawarij narrator is inconsistent with the explanations provided by ulama muhaddithun.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 ALBASIRAH JOURNAL https://vmis.um.edu.my/index.php/ALBASIRAH/article/view/59773 Kaedah Fiqhiyyah dan Implikasinya dalam Penentuan Hukum Hotel Halal 2025-03-19T14:25:17+08:00 Siti Nur Husna Abd Rahman 2022416422@student.uitm.edu.my Rafidah Mohd Azli rafidah2262@uitm.edu.my Nursafra Mohd Zhaffar nursafra@uitm.edu.my Adibah Bahori adibahbahori@uitm.edu.my
The halal hotel industry is rapidly growing as a vital sector within Islamic tourism. The determination of rulings for halal hotel operations requires an approach grounded in Shariah principles, including the application of fiqhiyyah (Islamic legal maxims). This study aims to analyse the application of fiqhiyyah principles in determining the rulings for halal hotels and their implications on the industry. Four primary fiqhiyyah maxims are examined: al-umūr bi maqāsidihā (matters are judged by their objectives), al-mashaqqah tajlibu al-taysīr (hardship begets ease), ad-darar yuzāl (harm must be eliminated), and al-‘ādah muhakkamah (custom is authoritative). This study employs a qualitative methodology through document analysis involving classical fiqh texts, fatwas, and relevant halal hotel guidelines in Malaysia. The findings reveal that fiqhiyyah principles play a significant role in ensuring flexibility and justice in deriving rulings aligned with industry needs. The implications of this study are expected to assist authorities, hotel operators, and the public in understanding and implementing Shariah principles more systematically within halal hotel operations.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 ALBASIRAH JOURNAL https://vmis.um.edu.my/index.php/ALBASIRAH/article/view/61786 الآليات الشرعيّة والتربويّة لمواجهة الجرائم السيبرانيّة: دور الأسرة والمدرسة 2025-06-13T10:37:37+08:00 Khalil Al Fazari‬‏ k.s.alfazari@gmail.com Mohamad Azrien Mohamed Adnan mdazrien@um.edu.my Tengku Sarina Aini Tengku Kasim tgsarina@um.edu.my
This study examines cybercrime through the lens of Islamic objectives of the law (maqāṣid al-sharīʿa), highlighting the capacity of Islamic rulings to complement positive legislation with flexible ethical frameworks that govern digital behaviour and safeguard essential societal interests. Adopting a descriptive–analytical methodology, the research first catalogues relevant sharīʿa-based measures and statutory regulations, then analyses them to derive preventive guidelines that integrate religious, technical, and educational dimensions. The findings demonstrate that the maqāṣid framework can effectively address cyber-threats; classifying digital offences under taʿzīr (discretionary punishments) grants judges sufficient latitude to deter misconduct. Moreover, fostering a culture of positive parental oversight and embedding values of trustworthiness and privacy within school curricula reduce cyber-deviance among youth. The study also underscores the need for institutional cooperation among Islamic authorities, educational bodies, and telecommunications regulators to close legislative gaps and keep pace with technological developments. It recommends issuing a unified sharīʿa-technical guide, developing training programmes for parents and educators, and establishing an open-access knowledge platform and national response centres that combine Islamic jurisprudential and technical expertise to build a secure digital environment consistent with Islamic values.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 ALBASIRAH JOURNAL https://vmis.um.edu.my/index.php/ALBASIRAH/article/view/60651 الوسطية العقدية في منهج أهل السنة والجماعة وأثرها في إدارة التنوع الديني والثقافي: دراسة تطبيقية على النموذج الماليزي 2025-06-17T20:35:45+08:00 Maged Abdullah Mohammed Hamid majidhumai9@gmail.com Syed Mohammad Hilmi Syed Abdul Rahman smhilmi@um.edu.my Mohammad Abdelhamid Salem Qatawneh qatawneh@um.edu.my
This study aims to shed light on the concept of doctrinal moderation (al-wasaṭiyyah al-ʿaqādiyyah) within the framework of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah, and to explore its role in managing religious and cultural diversity, with a specific focus on the Malaysian model as a case study. The central problem lies in how the moderate methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah can be effectively utilized to formulate a practical framework for managing religious and cultural plurality—one that avoids social conflict and fosters societal cohesion and stability. The study adopts an analytical methodology that integrates both theoretical and practical dimensions. It examines the theological and intellectual sources of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah, alongside an empirical analysis of the Malaysian experience as a living example. The research addresses several core themes: the concept and foundations of doctrinal moderation in Sunni thought, the stance of Ahl al-Sunnah toward religious and cultural diversity, and an analysis of the mechanisms employed in the Malaysian context. The findings highlight that adherence to the moderate theological approach of Ahl al-Sunnah promotes balance and moderation, which in turn support values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. This has significantly contributed to the effective management of religious and cultural diversity in Malaysia and has strengthened national unity. The study thus affirms the distinctive role played by the moderate Sunni methodology in shaping the Malaysian experience.
2025-06-09T09:05:12+08:00 Salim Khalfan Ali Al Hosni Salm.hosni@moe.om Mohamad Azrien Mohamed Adnan mdazrien@um.edu.my
Accordingly, the study aimed to identify the validity indicators of the Emotional Intelligence Scale among educational supervisors in the Sultanate of Oman. In addition, the study aimed to identify the reliability indicators of the Emotional Intelligence Scale among educational supervisors in the Sultanate of Oman. The Emotional Intelligence Scale was employed on a sample of (173) male and female supervisors distributed over all educational governorates. The results showed that the validity indicators of the Emotional Intelligence Scale of educational supervisors in the Sultanate of Oman had achieved significant correlations at the level of 0.01 with the degrees of the dimension to which they belong. In addition, the dimensions achieved significant correlations at the level of 0.01 with the total score of the scale. This confirms the internal consistency and construct validity of the scale. The results also showed that the reliability indicators of the emotional intelligence scale of the educational supervisors in the Sultanate of Oman were generally characterized by a good degree of stability. This confirms the alpha’s Cronbach stability and the split-half stability. Thus, the scale can be relied upon in application to other samples. The study recommended the need to develop measures of emotional intelligence for administrators, educational supervisors, and teachers. In addition, there is a need to develop training packages aimed at imparting emotional intelligence skills to various educational groups and striving to include emotional intelligence in teacher and leader preparation programs.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2025 ALBASIRAH JOURNAL
