Manuscript Preparation
New submissions should be submitted as a single file, which will be used in the refereeing process. The single manuscript file must be a word document. The total size of the submitted file must not exceed 30MB.
Your article will be screened by the JOSMA Managing Editor and must conform the following guidelines in order to process:
Please write your text in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these). Papers written in poor English will immediately be returned to the authors.
The article should not exceed 30 pages. The page limit includes the abstract (describing its main points within 150-200 words), figures and tables, the main manuscript and the references.
The article should be A4 size, in single column pages, with 11pt and 1.5 line spacing.
Please ensure that figures and tables embedded in the single manuscript file are placed next to the relevant text in the article, not at the bottom or top of the file. Figures should be of a high enough quality for refereeing.
Reference format should follow the style used by the American Psychological Association (APA), with the reference list arranged alphabetically.
The structure should follow the manuscript template. (Click here for the template). Please upload two separate Word files:
(1) Full Text: This file should contain the entire text, Figures, Tables etc., including all information, such as name, email, and affiliations.
(2) Blinded Full Text: In this file, please provide the same text as in the first file, but make sure to remove the author's name, email address, and affiliations.
Review Process
Manuscripts will be reviewed by the Editorial Board and at least one independent referee. Decisions regarding the publication of a manuscript will be based on the Board’s recommendations. The manuscript will be evaluated based on its appropriateness for JOSMA, contribution to the discipline, cogency of analysis, conceptual breadth, clarity of presentation and technical adequacy. Manuscripts submitted by members of the journal’s Editorial Board are subjected to the same review procedure.
Proofs
One set of pages will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author. Please use this proof only for checking the typesetting, editing, completeness and correctness of the text, tables and figures. Significant changes to the article as accepted for publication will only be considered at this stage with permission from the Editor. We will do everything possible to get your article published quickly and accurately. It is important to ensure that all corrections are sent back to us in one communication: please check carefully before replying, as inclusion of any subsequent corrections cannot be guaranteed. Proofreading is solely your responsibility.
