The current human lifestyle is moving very fast in a hectic environment with the motto 'can live a life in anyway'. Humans fail to accomplish their various activities fully due to lack of time. Among them, health care and diet are noteworthy. As the saying goes in Tamil, "Painting could be done only if the wall is exit”, where a man can perform his daily duties properly only if he keeps his body healthy. Diet is one of the most important health influences. Instead of eating all the available foods, knowing the nature of each food and eating it will provide a good health and life. In this way, Siddhar Theraiyar has effectively explained about advantages and disadvantages of food consummation and usage of cooking ingredients in the book called ‘Padhartaguna Chintamani'. It is believed that this book may belong to the 15th century. The basic aim of this research paper is to compile and present the information related to food discipline as described in the book Padarthaguna Chintamani.
